Intro to Creative Commons Licensing

Open educational resources are more than just free materials. The reason they are called "open" is that these materials come with a Creative Commons (CC) license. This workshop will provide a deep dive into the different CC licenses, including license compatibility, best practices for attribution, and how to assign a CC license to your remixed or original work. Participants will learn how copyright and CC licenses work together, as well as sources for finding openly-licensed materials in all formats. If you are working on an OER Award project or would like to learn how CC licenses can help you "open" up your scholarly work, this workshop is for you.
